Visual Overdose Studio Gallery Opening
| Drawing, sculpture and performance come together in the exhibition and opening of the Visual Overdose gallery. The gallery situated right next door to the Pelican’s Nest at 141 Wynnum Esplanade, Wynnum just opposite the Wynnum Wading pool is the latest project by local artist Nick O’Shea. Nick has been sculpting and painting for many years, his latest works being the area of body casting, combining beautifully detailed castings ground together with industrial gauge cogs and gears.
The gallery opening will be a combination of Nicks work and another local artist Martin Butler. Many locals would know Martin from his drawing classes held over the years Nick being one of his past students. Martin’s work is an amazing array of nude drawings, contorted and just plausible figures stretched and elongated but still looking perfectly true in form and perspective. Martin also has a new book out which will be available at the gallery during the exhibition. The exhibition starts on Saturday the 24th of March at 6pm and will begin with a performance on the beach front featuring local dancer Danika Butler then across the road cracking the seal and leading the way into the exhibition. On entering the gallery be prepared for massive Visual Overdose. Our helpers will be on standby to assist the faint hearted. The Gallery will be open Sundays 10am to 6pm after the opening. |
